STORM BAKKER

Versatile writer focused on music and history, regularly contributing to magazines such as Jazzism, De Nieuwe Muze, ProgJazz, Draai om je Oren, and Jazzpodium/Cultuurpodium, among others. His background includes editorial work for regional media, including serving as interim Editor in Chief for the Baarnsche Courant. Since 2019, he has been active as a program maker and presenter for RTV Eemland1’s show Jazz aan de Amer, succeeding his late friend and confidant, Cees Schrama. He has taught at various conservatories, art centers, academies, and music schools, specializing in cultural entrepreneurship, creative design, jazz piano, combo performance, analog synthesizer, polyrhythm, and music theory and history. From 2006 to 2014, he organized the annual Festival de Muzen in Eemland. He was also deeply involved in communication and promotion for the Amersfoort Jazz festival from 2007 through 2020. As an executive musician, composer, and concert organizer, he has spearheaded projects like Alter Ego JazzBarock Consort (with Rob van den Broeck, Oene van Geel, Eef Albers, Tineke Postma), Bohemian Groove (with Joe Bowie, Twan van Gerven), and various jazz and fusion ensembles (with Ruud Breuls, Bart van Lier, Peter Tiehuis). He has performed as a sideman on keyboards/piano with groups including Tommy Smith KARMA, Leo Janssen Group, Lucas van Merwijk’s Music Machine & Theodossii Spassov, Wieke Garcia Group, PitchWhiteStorm, Onno Witte’s Wildcard, Nabil Khemir, Naked Ears, Amsterdelics, Marc Scholten, and Twan van Gerven (Dutch X-ing). ROBIN BOER

Since 2018, he has been active as a writer specializing in music, exclusively for ProgJazz magazine. He focuses on prog and jazz rock, possesses an immense record collection, and holds an encyclopedic knowledge of modern music history. Until the end of 2023, he performed as a singer and keyboardist with the high profile Zappa tribute band 2000Motels and as a sideman in Stormvogel’s Alter Ego. He is currently making a mark nationally and internationally with his melodic prog rock project, Lunar Clock. The debut album, The Scream Of Nature (2020), was enthusiastically received by magazines like ProgWereld, DPRP, and ProgArchives, as well as leading publications in Italy, Germany, France, Spain, and China.
